In the District of Colorado, a U.S. Magistrate Judge may be the first judge the parties appear before, and sometimes the only judge they see ahead of trial. In this CLE, attendees will hear the perspective of a magistrate judge on matters like scheduling conferences, discovery disputes, settlement conferences, and motions practice. Because magistrate judges play a key role in shaping discovery and resolving discovery disputes, the presenters will focus primarily on discovery, highlighting best practices and using sample discovery disputes to give practitioners a roadmap for teeing up their discovery issues in the most effective way possible. The presenters will leave time for Q&A, giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions that are specific to their needs and practice.
