A moderated panel discussion of creative appellate tactics, with perspective from civil and criminal practitioners who regularly represent private parties and the government on appeal. Topics covered will include appellate settlement, obtaining supplemental briefing, the effective use of supplemental authority letters, speeding up and slowing down appeals, use of visual aids, how to structure your argument, and how to research and persuasively argue the deep reasoning behind a legal rule.
